Press Release - Oct 20

To coincide with the launch of their first specialist fully integrated DFM offering for the Financial Advisor market, Peregrine & Black Investment Management have also announced two internal promotions.

Chris Redman joined the Mayfair-based boutique in December 2018 and, reflecting the increasing importance of "ESG", he now assumes the role of Head of Responsible Investment Solutions. At the same time, ex-Rathbones investment director Graham Withers takes on the newly created position of Head of Discretionary Investment Management.

"Chris has over 30 years’ experience in the business. He is a pioneer in the ESG space given that he was offering ethical and socially responsible portfolios via a mixture of direct equity and collective investments long before it became as fashionable as it is now" said Chief Executive Phil Gent. "His new role helps to embed his processes and methodology throughout the investment culture at PBIM"

Chief Investment Officer Oliver Pearson-Lund added,

"We've been delighted with Graham's contribution to the firm since he joined us 17 months ago. He has brought renewed vigour to our investment process and structure to our everyday operations." He continued "Graham's experience and standing within the financial planning market has also been core to the new IFA proposition we are launching".

Head of Fund Solutions Nick Marshall, Redman and Withers are working alongside Business Development Manager James Brooks on the firm's discretionary IFA offering. It combines 4 options:-

Bespoke Portfolio Management using a cost-effective mixture of UK and international direct equities, corporate and government bonds, ETFs and collective investment vehicles under Withers.

17- year industry veteran Marshall is at the helm of the Model Portfolio Management option which comprises four risk rated models available on a number of third party platforms, with a robust track-record of nearly five years of performance at PBIM.

The ESG portfolio service provides a traditional bespoke discretionary service with an ethical approach, whilst the fourth element of the offering is the AIM IHT portfolio solution for helping clients with inheritance tax matters. Redman runs both and is enormously proud of the fact that he personally meets all the companies he invests in directly.

Brooks has also worked to make available an ‘Integrated Pension Transfer and Discretionary Management service’ for introducers. Working closely with sister company P&B Wealth, Peregrine & Black can combine gold-standard (as awarded by the PFS) expertise in providing advice in the defined benefit pension transfer space with these discretionary management services.

Gent is pleased that,

"We now have the full range of investment options available for both direct clients, and where we also work alongside financial planners. We believe that there are exciting days ahead for Peregrine & Black".
